The chosen few for the Agora Masters
The Valencia Open 500 Young Talents 2014 has been a tough yet rewarding tournament. The 400 girls and boys who took part have given their very best in pursuing the challenge of classifying for the Agora Masters, the tournament of their dreams, over the course of a year whenthe competition travelled outside the Valencian Community for the first time, making it even more competitive.
The seven winners in the men’s category are, in order of ranking: Ramiro Laguna (990 points), Áxel Vila (980), Carlos Sánchez (825), John Echeverría (770), Antonio Amurrio (405), Álvaro Sáez-Royuela (360) and Miguel Ferrer (340). Meanwhile, the seven women classifiers are: Laura Pellicer (1,400 points), Gabriela Martínez (1,360), Lucía de la Puerta (1,025), Mercedes Aristegui (660), Ksenia Tarasova (600), Ángela Díez (630) and Laia Conde (570). The only thing yet to be decided is the wild card in each category, which will be announced on Wednesday from among the 15 applications received by the organization.
