Álex Ferry and Marta Falceto, winners of "Deportividad del Promesas"
Sportsmanship is basically the respect for the rules of the game and also includes concepts as friendship and respect for the opponent. Sportsmanship is, in addition to a behavior, a way of thinking and a vital attitude to fight against the trap and deception.
This year, Valencia Open wants to reward to two of the players of ‘Valencia Open Promesas’ who have all this qualities.
Among more than 500 participants in the nine qualifying tournaments, from Malaga to Bilbao, today has been selected the two winners of the award for sportsmanship, which is based on three vital aspects: sportsmanship both on the court and outside, respect for the opponent and the judges and know how win but also know how to lose.
These awards have been awarded to Marta Falceto, from Zaragoza, and Álex Ferri, from Alcoy.
The trophy was given by Juan Carlos Ferrero, director of Valencia Open, and Juan Olivert, director of ‘Valencia Open Promesas’.
