Steve Johnson is becoming one of Valencia's most popular attractions. After beating Martin Klizan at the first round, he played againts Feliciano Lopez at the second round. And the answer could not be more positive for his interests: victory and qualifiying to the quarterfinals in his first participation in the Valencian tournament. In fact, he had already won 'Feli' in the only precedent between the two players.

Johnson played the final in Vienna on Sunday, where he lost against David Ferrer, but this is not just his great result of the campaign. In Winston-Salem and Washington he reached the semifinals and in Delray Beach, Memphis and Auckland showed his class at the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Roberto Bautista has exhibited this evening a very high level of play and he has beaten one of the most talented young players, Andrey Rublev, who had come into the tournament thanks to a 'Wild card'. 

At the court 1, highlighted the success of Joao Sousa against Benoit Paire. The Portuguese has already reached his best result at Valencia Open, which was the second round during the 2013. This is his third appearance at the tournament.
