Vila-real launches ‘Valencia Open 500 Street Tennis’
The Fundación Juan Carlos Ferrero, in collaboration with the tournament, is the organiser of the event which last year brought together thousands of youngsters.
The second edition of ‘Valencia Open 500 Street Tennis’ begins tomorrow, 20 of June, in Vila-real in what will be the first of a series of stops in different cities for boys and girls between 4 and 16 years old to enjoy tennis. Registration is free and can be completed in the city´s Plaza Mayor where the event will take place between 17.30 and 20.00. The organiser is the Juan Carlos Ferrero Foundation, in collaboration with ‘Valencia Open 500 ATP World Tour’.
Antonio Martínez Cascales, ex director of the tournament and ‘alma mater’ of the foundation of the ex-world number one, emphasises the value of the event: "The idea is what we have always said: we don´t want anybody to be without tennis. We want this sport to reach all the fans, especially the youngest, who are the future. We are nothing without them. I encourage all young people to take part in these activities; they can have a unique experience in all senses. Last year ‘Street Tennis’ was an overwhelming success and this season we will certainly match, or even better it”.
